Lime Wash in the Garden

Just as walls other than white can beautifully set off artwork so too can walls rich in tone complement plant material. The warm deep yellow of these limewashed stucco walls, close to Palazzo in our palette, are the backdrop for geraniums and potted pomegranate trees in a courtyard at La Foce, a celebated garden in Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia.
